Being a volunteer can be rewarding in many ways but this recipe comes from one of my calls. After I introduced myself as Bri, the homeowner asked if I liked Brie Cheese. I excited replied with some of my favorite Brie recipes. She was so excited I had come in the middle of a snow storm to help that she started to write down her family's favorite holiday appetizer. I thought about if I should put it on here or not, but in the end, I feel like not putting it on here would be more disrespectful than keeping it to myself. I think community can be shared through food and in the end, it belongs on here.
Ingredients:
- 1 tube French Bread Pillsbury
- 1 round Brie Cheese
- 1 Granny Smith Apple diced
- 1/2 cup Walnuts
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
Cooking:
1. Fold the bread in a circle and slice
2. Cook the bread according to the package but pull out of the oven 10 minutes before it is done
3. Add the cheese in the middle of the bread circle and put back into the oven for the last 10 minutes
4. Make the "sauce" by combing diced granny smith apples, walnuts and brown sugar
5. Top the bread and cheese with the sauce
6. Enjoy!
