Smile for this Salted Caramel Pear Pie

For my first pie, I of course couldn't go with the traditional apple cherry. I also got the chance to make my own salted caramel for this so of course I couldn't pass this up. The pears, cut thick, act as apples but have the pear taste. It is a unique and delicious pie. This is just the recipe for the filling, there is a recipe for a gluten free version of the crust under desserts.


Made with a double batch of my gluten free pie crust recipe to create the lattice

Ingredients:

- 6 cups Pears peeled and diced

- 1/2 cup Sugar

- 1/4 cup Almond Flour (or regular flour)

- 1 tsp Cinnamon

- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg, Allspice or Ginger

- 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice

- 1 cup Salted Caramel recipe for your own also under desserts

- more sugar for crust


Cooking:

1. Stir everything together spoon filling into crust leaving the liquid behind

2. Add whatever design you prefer on top of the filling, brush with egg, and sprinkle sugar.

3. Bake at 350° for ~ 30 minutes or longer if needed

4. Enjoy!
