It took me a while to find a recipe I actually liked. I taste tested them for you so you don't have to. This one comes from allrecipes.com.
A few notes here. I have only tried this taco seasoning with ground beef tacos and I am comparing it to the taste of the prepackaged taco seasoning you find at the store. Also, this one does contain flour and I found it important to thicken the taco meat up just a little. Last note, you can prepare the seasoning ahead of time and omit the flour until you are ready to mix with water and add to the meat.
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp Chili Powder
- 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/4 tsp Onion Powder
- 1/4 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- 1/4 tsp Oregano
- 1/2 tsp Paprika
- 1 1/2 tsp Cumin
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Flour
- 1/4 cup cold water
Cooking:
1. Add together the first 8 ingredients
2. Add the flour and cold water together
3. Add the dry ingredients with the flour/water mixture & add to your browned meat
4. Enjoy!
