I was searching for something different to do with my ground beef since I had defrosted it without knowing exactly what I wanted to do with it. I found Taco Joes on food.com. I like this recipe because I can eat the meat mixture with a bun, making it a taco joe; a tortilla, making it a taco; or tortilla chips, making it a taco salad. So with it just being me at home currently, I like being able to cook one thing and have it 3 different ways. This makes 6 servings with each being around 200 calories plus the bun/tortilla/chips you use to finish the dish.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound lean Ground Beef
- 1⁄4 cup Onion chopped
- 1⁄2 cup Salsa
- 1 tsp Flour
- 1 tsp Chili Powder
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1⁄2 tsp Cumin
- 1⁄4 tsp Salt
- 1⁄8 tsp Garlic Powder
- 4 -6 sandwich buns
Cooking:
1. Ground beef and onion
2. Add seasonings and salsa
3. Serve on buns for taco joes, on tortillas for tacos and on tortilla chips and lettuce for taco salad
4. Enjoy!
