Get Your Greek On with This Greek Baked Ziti

This recipe combines a world favorite of pasta with Greek flavors and baked for a warm combination with a crunchy top. While this dish takes a bit of effort, it is well worth it in the end. I original found this recipe in the Southern Living magazine so enjoy!


Ingredients:

- 12 ounces Ziti Pasta cooked according to the package

- 1 small Onion Chopped

- Olive Oil

- 2 Garlic Cloves

- 1 1/2 pounds Ground Beef

- 2 15 ounce cans Tomato Sauce

- 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice

- 1 1/2 tablespoon Oregano

- 1 tsp Sugar

- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon

- Salt

- 3 tablespoons Butter

- 3 tablespoon Flour

- 3 cup Milk

- 1 cup Parmesan Cheese

- 8 ounces Mozzarella Cheese

- 1/3 cup Breadcrumbs


Cooking:

1. Preheat oven to 350°

2. Saute onion and garlic, add beef and brown

3. Add tomato sauce, lemon, oregano, sugar & cinnamon

4. IN another pan, melt butter, add flour and saute for 2 minutes on low. Whisk in milk and increase heat to medium for 5 minutes then stir in Parmesan cheese and salt

5. Add the butter and cheese mixture to cooked pasta

6. Add pasta to a greased pan and top with beef mixture, mozzarella and breadcrumbs

7. Bake for 20 minutes

8. Let cool for 10 minutes then serve

9. Enjoy!
